Sharing Documents via MyFiles

Being able to share files, pictures, and documents is vital for many co-parents' communication. On OurFamilyWizard, MyFiles is a central location for parents to upload photos, homework assignments, permission slips, and more.

In this tutorial:

Uploading directly to MyFiles

  1. Click on the Info Bank tab at the top of the page.
  2. Select the MyFiles section from the menu on the left.
  3. Next, click the Add button located at the top of the MyFiles page.
  4. Select “Choose file” (Mac) or “Browse File” (PC) to locate the documents you wish to upload. Once you have chosen the file you wish to upload, you can label it and put a brief description. If you wish the file to be private and viewable only to you, check the box for "Private."
  5.  After you have finished, click Save and your file will be uploaded.

Editing or removing MyFiles uploads

Files that have been uploaded directly to the MyFiles section of the Info Bank can be edited or removed by the parent who added them.

  1. Navigate to the Info Bank tab.
  2. Select My Files from the menu on the left.
  3. Files that you have uploaded directly to MyFiles will have 3 icons under the 'Options' column.
    1. Normal File : This icon denotes that the file has been uploaded directly to MyFiles, rather than being an attachment on a message or expense entry. (anchor link)
    2. Delete : Click this icon if you wish to remove the file from OFW.
    3. Edit : Click this icon if you wish to update the file's label, description, or privacy settings.

MyFiles storage space

Each parent account on OFW has storage space that is used when PDFs, pictures, receipts, and other documents are uploaded to the website. Files uploaded by your co-parent do not affect the amount of storage space available for your account. To check how much of your storage space you are currently using, do the following:

  1. Navigate to the Info Bank tab.
  2. Select My Files from the menu on the left.
  3. In the blue bar above the file list, click on the green Info button on the right. This will expand a section that will tell you the percentage of MyFiles storage that you are currently using.

Attachments to messages and expense entries

While parents can upload documents directly to MyFiles, attachments that were uploaded with a message or expense entry will also be documented within MyFiles as well.

  •  - Attachments on messages will be marked with this icon
  •  - Receipt files attached to expenses will be marked with this icon

Clicking on either the message or expense icon will bring you to the entry where the file was originally uploaded. Note: Files that were uploaded to a message or an expense entry cannot be edited or removed from MyFiles.
