Create and Link to Families
As a professional user, you are able to connect to the accounts of clients who are using OFW. A client may send a link request to you, or you may send your client a request to link with them.
When a client sends you a request for professional permission, you will receive an email notification. Click the link in this email to go to your account. Next, go to your My Cases page and review your client list for the request in question. Open requests will have three options available to you under the "Actions" column for that family. You can:
- Approve the request to gain access to the client
- Refuse the request to not gain access to the client
- Block the request to refuse this request and block any future requests from this client
On this page, you can also Withdraw requests that you've made and Remove your access to clients you are no longer working with. Also, if you have access to one parent and not the other, you can Request Access to that parent from here as well.
To connect to one client or both parents in a family that has already signed up, click the "Add Client" button. At the top of the Add Client window, select the option for "Link to Existing Family". Enter the names of both parents and at least one email address. Click "Continue" and on the following page, select "Send Link Requests".
Any parent for whom you have requested access will be sent an email with a link to respond. Your request will remain at the "Requested" status on your My Cases page until the parent responds. If you did NOT request access to a parent, they will not be contacted.
Also as a professional user, you may often meet new clients whom you think should be using OFW for communication. You are able to help the parents get started by creating their accounts on the website.
To create a family without activating their subscriptions, click "Add Client". At the top of the Add Client window, click "Create New Family". Enter the names of both parents and at least one email address. Above each parent's name, select whether you'd like to request access to one, both or neither parent. Next, enter the name(s) of the child(ren). Click "Continue", confirm your information, then click "Create Accounts and Send Requests".
Parents will be sent an email about how to access and activate their accounts. Parents are provided with two grace logins to access their account prior to activation. Again, any parent for whom you have requested access will be sent an email with a link to respond. Your request will remain at the "Requested" status on your My Cases page until the parent responds.
