The Intersection of Technology, Domestic Violence, and Family Courts During COVID-19
COVID-19 has dramatically increased the use of technology among family court professionals, but this does not come without potential dangers. Technology is also being used in new and more effective ways by domestic abusers who seek to monitor, control, threaten and harm their victims and children.
This discussion will examine how tools that are helpful in many situations can become lethal weapons when intimate partner violence is involved. Presenters will discuss the challenges facing family courts during the pandemic, and consider how family court professionals can address the needs of families and children in a safe and effective manner.
