Q. What does "transfer interrupted" mean? Why does my page load only halfway?
A. Sometimes your browser doesn't receive all the information (text, graphics, etc.) needed to create, or build, a page. Wait until the entire page appears before clicking on a link. |

Q. How can I speed up my Web browsing?
A. Speed depends on several things: your modem speed, the connection to your server (the computer you dial into), the number of people on the Web ("traffic"), the kind of computer you're using and other influences. There are a few basic things you can do to increase speed: |
• Close all applications except the browser you're using.
• Set your monitor (screen) to a lower color resolution.
• For example, surfing in 16 color mode is faster than surfing in 256 color mode (it may not look as good in this mode, though). To check your computer's setting on a PC, go to the Control Panel. Click on Display and adjust the screen area under settings: To check your computer's setting on a Mac, go to the Control Panel. Click on Monitors. Adjust the resolution.
• Experiment with different browsers since some are faster than others.
• Allocate more memory to your browser. • Use a higher-speed modem (be sure your present modem is set to its maximum speed).
• Use a faster computer
• Set your browser cache to "once per session" in the Options.
• Avoid surfing the Web during peak use periods, like weekday afternoons.
